I'm going a little retro, I got this one years ago but it's still one of my favorites, the Yamaha PC-9. It's a AKA Sanyo but it's one of the really nice compo style units. Super heavy, wikiboombox has it at 25 lbs with out batteries, the bottom compartment holds the battery tray which is opened from the front. Even though it can be separated and spread out, it has permanent connections. The design styling is pretty modern without a lot of flash, it's kind of refreshing and looks more upscale than some of the big units around this era.

The LEDs, the sound and the build quality are just about perfect and these still fly under the radar but it still holds it's own against the other compo systems. I think I have all of the Yamaha Boomboxes, the others are ok but this one is much better.

Celebrating another lockdown, I splurged on some Dogfish Camp Fire Amplifier, it kind of describes my life burning an endless supply of buckthorn while listening to my boomers. Not only does this have a kick to it but there's a lot of interesting hints of flavors coming through. Unfortunately all of the good ones disappear, it's going to be a long winter, I better stock up.

Dogfish Beer is the best, it's one of the few breweries that I can drink most of their releases. This one clocks in at 6.5% so AC/DC sounds really good after one or two and the sweet smell of burning buckthorn enhances the rich flavors of the Camp Fire. I can kind of handle the lockdown, I've got a ton of work to stay busy, right now I'm trying to get access to some buried hydraulic lines in a skid-steer, hours of contortion for two fittings.

Celebrating the next breakthrough (by yours truly) in preimplantation embryo (aka IVF, test-tube embryo) Genetic Testing: now we can predict the eye color of the baby!!! Sam Adams was our poison (along with Spaten) for when we did the first-ever IVF genetic testings in 1989-1991 @ RGI in Chicago. Full circle, but with a long and sad list of lost friends along the road...

RX-5500 playing King Crimson... my favorite tune then as now and my fav art piece 'forgotten child' by Allois on the background ;) Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree mentioned once that 'sad' music is his favorite: no matter how many times I play Queen or Pink Floyd or King Crimson,... in the end I end up with Porcupine Tree albums. All my speeding tickets are from when I were listening to Beethoven... Porcupine Tree is just PERFECT for LA traffic!!!;)

Wow, @autoreverser is even deeper into Steven Wilson than me. I were buying Porcupine Tree, No-Man, Blackfield and SW CDs as they were coming out, then second copies as Japanese Mini-LP CDs but only the latest SW as himself on LPs. thanks to you now I have Pontiak in my collection, wish I could get a better look at what you have on the shelves. Going to check out Queens of the Stone Age tomorrow ;)

Found on the internet....For us the brown bag was either Mickey's or Falstaff, .69 cents a quart!, the only thing we could afford during college.
