Found on the Lasonic Website, I think this has just been updated, maybe they're getting back into it with more models. It's nice when companies have their historical information posted, too bad more don't do it. https://lasonicusa.com/iconic-model/
Great pics. Website says they’re planning a “strong and impactful” relaunch in 2020...shame it never happened, presume Covid killed it off :-(
I was trying to find this, unfortuntely the website is gone and archive.org didn't archive most of it. It looks like the dream is dead, one of the website quotes said they were going to be a "lifestyle" brand which turned into the kiss of death for a ton of audio companies. Gibson (guitars) was doing the same thing around this time, I remember a room full of Gibson Swag over in Tokyo and it was way too much of this: I wonder what the sales figures were for the newer boombox releases, they had a jump on everyone else.
Do you mean they wanted to make a rerun of the old Mk2 of the old TRC-935? That must have been fantastic, because I absolutely love this model! It's a real shame that this apparently did not happen. I did find out that the service manual for the 935 has become available recently. That was a real cause for celebration, because I previously considered the lack of a service manual a real drawback of this model. I was extremely careful with it, so as not to blow anything up or anything. At least now it's repairable if something goes wrong.
I deleted a sentence from the original post, not sure what I was looking at and if you were referencing that? They had the one of the first "reissues" that seemed kind of successful, too bad they didn't milk it a little more, stick with what your good at.
Actually I think they kind of did, according to this thread: Lasonic Boombox | Boomboxery Forum Not sure if it's the same people though
