Looking for a picture of my old Sharp TV I just found this photo
    Bishop Road_0006.jpg
No this isn't a retro collection, but the stuff I had in lodgings in 1985 shortly before buying a house.
Every item pictured was bought new by me in the preceding five years.
    • The black unit on the floor is a Mitsubishi HS700B "portable" VCR
    • The remote for the Akai F3L is on the bed
    • Look closely and you can see Manic Miner on the Sharp TV (which the camera flash washed out).
Does anyone else have any photos of their 20th century home setup ?
We could go slightly newer if the equipment is interesting enough.

I wish I did Longman, I didn't take any photos of any of my cool stuff when I was a kid. Your setup looks perfect, boombox, TV, computer and stereo, what else could you want?

When I bought most of this a bit more room. Most of this was bought between 1983 and 1985 when I was earning a decent wage, but still living with my parents. My bedroom there (not the room in the photo) was about 7ft x 9ft. The 10" TV actually cost more that a 14" one but the 14" ones were so big it would have been difficult to find room for one.

In 1986 after about six months in lodgings I bought my own house. For the next few years my priorities were things like kitchen white goods, curtains, and furniture.
Here is a minimalist photo of house number two back in 1989 just after I got the keys, while most of my stuff was with the removal company

Name the box (which I never had a cassette door for).
