Thought I’ll share my home setup and hope other people will share theirs too.
Below are some pictures of my setup.

My system is a very modest all analogue setup, it’s all about quality and not quantity.
My system consist of the following

Acoustic Solid One to One, Dynavector DV507MKII tonearm, Acoustical Systems Arché headshell, EMT JSD S 75 cartridge, Dereneville DAE 01 CL motor, Farad Super3 power supply.

Nakamichi CR-7 tape deck with XLO and Grover Huffman Interconnect cables

Ion Systems FMT-1 tuner with Isoda Electric Interconnect cables

Spectral Audio DMC 15s Reference Pre-Amp with Spectral Audio MI-350 Ultralinear II Interconnect

Spectral Audio DMA 100s Reference Amplifier with Spectral Audio MH-770 Ultralinear II cables

All sitting on HNE Systems Granite Hi-Fi rack on top of Finite Element Cerabase Classic feet. The pre-amp is sitting on some Black Ravioli isolation feet.

Peak Consult Princess Signature speakers

Loricraft PRC3 record cleaning machine, sitting on top of a record rack in the pic below.

Nice setup TooCool, modest with that turntable I think not

Anyway here's mine and this is modest:

Turntable - Thorens TD66 mark VI, Rega RB250 arm, Ortofon MC15 Super II cartridge

Preamp - Audiolab 8000C

Poweramp - Rotel RB 981

Cassette Deck - JVC TD-V562

CD Player - Marantz CD7300

Speakers - Mission 753's (at the moment)

Plus on the smaller 2nd rack:

Sony CDP-101

Marantz CD73 (with remote control unit)

Grundig Minidisc player/recorder

 

Nice setup too MRP32DAVE, I remember the Mission 753 well. I use to lust after Audiolab gear.

I just have a vintage Fisher system from 1986 complete with 15" Woofers!!!

With regard to your room acoustics, you can always have your room treated to improve the acoustics.

 

TooCool4 your turntable looks really nice close up, always liked the look of Dynavector arms.
I've always wanted a Michell Gyrodec, love the design.
My Audiolab preamp is sweet getting old now though 94', but it does have a nice MC preamp and headphone amp.

Hey Bill nice nice vintage stack , I've always had separates I like to swap things around and try out other pieces, but I did like the look of some 80's stacks though.

Hugo just did a post same way as yours above, but I've noticed if you to only let members view your albums then guests will not see any images, not sure what happens if you don't embed them? I'll try it out in my next post.

 

That turntable is something else TC .

Good point. The one time I had a look at the other Boombox forum I couldn't see most of the photos and decided I wasn't welcome there. New people won't bother to join if they can't see what is on offer and search engines might have problems too.

 

Thanks retro, the Peak Consults look good as well as sounding good. With regard to Sonus Faber speakers they are just a great set of well designed and hand crafted piece of furniture but sound is just mediocre.

 

An obvious AO question but sweet baby jesus, you have to do something about that carpet,

 

Ha ha yes it’s hideous, but it’s a rented flat so can’t really do anything about it unless the landlord decides to change it.

 

here's my gear.

as you can see, i prefer vinyl - to play cd's or mp3 i use that old macbook.

- tt is a 1964 Thorens TD124 MkII (modded bearings, costum-plynth) with SME 2012 and Shure V15MkIV or MkIII with eliptical needle when i play shellacks (78 rpm).

- pre-amp is a late 50'es Heathkit UMC-1 (...quite a rare baby, similar to those era's Leak- amps), full tube incl. phono-pre-amp, completely re-capped

- power-amp is a very early HarmanKardon HK-250, quite modded with a self-made (!) power-transformer, completely new capped

- speakers are some 80'ies french Cabasse Sloop Mk IV, wich i like for their huge bass (no reflex !!!)...

as you may notice there's no caseete-deck in my hifi anymore...
