Giving Samantha a spin at 45RPM Having heard bad things about picture discs I was surprised by how good the sound quality is. The second photo is with the Sound Burger stopped as every photo with it moving came out like the first.
Awesome Longman! She was all over the place at one time, sadly almost lost to history. That's the kind of stuff I want to see at the local bar on the wall and have deep conversations of how good we had it in the 80's.
Having gone looking for Picture Discs in general on eBay, I now know how many Samantha Fox ones there are. Given that before she released this as her first record, she was Britain's most popular newspaper "Page 3" model, and one of the three most photographed women in Britain (the other two being Margaret Thatcher and Princess Diana) I suppose Samantha and picture discs were made for each other. It is a shame that in the U.K. people still remember her more for her pictures than her music as some of it is good in a very 1980s way.
Picked this gem today at a goodwill market, out of curiosity i searched the internet for info, as i recall Mike was only 19 yrs old when this was realeased in 1973.To my surprise it was realeased on the 25 may . That's today 48 years ago! What a coincidence.
I expect people will have heard of the Virgin brand, which nowadays is associated with Air and Rail travel, cable TV, and even space tourism. That was their very first product https://www.whathifi.com/features/how-tubular-bells-built-virgin-empire However, I miss the days of Virgin records, which was probably the largest record store in Bristol U.K.
Thanks for the link Longman, i enjoyed reading that, didn't know that Viv was on the record as the Master of Ceremonies (i love the Bonzos music)
