    Dear all,

This is my first post here.

My name is Nicolas and I work in a company called Alien Soundworks Corporation in Tokyo. We are doing electric guitar business mainly but we also repair audio/video devices like cassette recorders, speakers, cameras, etc.

Since Japan has a big catalog culture, in my office we have a huge collection of catalogs from the 70s to the 2000s.

Those catalogs include mainly electric guitars, guitar amps, keyboards and synthesizers, drums but also, audio and video components from Sony, Pioneer, Casio, etc.

We are scanning every catalog and upload them here : www.catalogism.com
Initially we wanted to make a catalog database for us but we decided to make it available for free to the public.

If you love hi-fi components, boomboxes, CRT TV sets or video camera from the 80s or 90s, you will love this site! Please have a look and tell me what you think. It's all free and you don't need to subscribe to anything!

I will try to help you to find some precious documentation with our database if you need it.
I can wait to have some talk with you guys. Have a good one![IMG]

A quick look indicates hours of interesting browsing.
Are you aware of https://www.hifi-archiv.info/ ?
A great site but aimed more at HiFi

p.s. The second catalogue I looked at on your site has a Sony ICF-A12 Clock Radio like the one sat in my lounge in it. It's a small world.

I love looking through old catalogues especially when they have prices.
A set of catalogues that is very specific to the U.K. is
    https://retromash.com/argos/
You won't find anything high end in them but with over 100 shops they were (and to an extent still are) one of the first places people would look if they wanted a new boombox or stereo or were just wondering what the latest gadgets were. If a manufacturer like Sanyo got a product chosen to go in the catalogue their sales of it would probably double or more.

Very cool, thank you for doing this! The late 70s to the mid 80s would be of most interest

Thanks for the comment! Everything is scanned at 600dpi, so I think it is quite futureproof.
