I love checking out the design changes, they are much smaller than they look, one of the nicest mini cassette players. The other brands are nice but 2-4x the size.
the major changes in those Uhers were inside. one day i might open them all up and make some little doku, after all those were the first portable hifi-autoreverse cassette units...
I never saw anything that nice back then, we had the normal, cheapo, mono-piano key unit that everyone had. We'd burp, fart and tape songs off the radio and thought cassette players were the greatest.
those UHER Report rtr‘s went from 1961 untill 1999 (!). here‘s my most beautyfull ca.1982 4400 Report Monitor (4-track stereo 3 head):
…yeah, going with the time they changed to some very pretty round vu‘s and changed the more solid top-lid into a fully acrylic type. i‘ll have to dig out my Report‘s and post some pics…
Thank you, don’t worry, one of the knobs broke during transportation. I repaired it with epoxy resin.
