I know that I won't be able to rebuild my lost LP collection: prices for King Super Analogue LPs start at $100+ nowadays. At $35 apiece when in print they were not exactly cheap but at least, ahem, 'affordable', and I collected most of them.

here is the first 'shaded dog' for my new collection. Favorite symphony from my favorite composer. Beautiful pressing, as one would expect from a 'shaded dog' :)

I feel for you Jorge, even over the last year everything has gone way up in price. I leave the price tags on my thrift store purchases just to remind myself how good it used to be. Have you looked at tape decks these days? I was reading a Japanese Blog, the guy basically said they didn't appreciate home-made goods like Nakamichis, he sold one online through Buyee and he assumed it was going overseas where they loved them. The buyer comes up as "Buyee" if you use that service.

Massive Attack – Unfinished Sympathy (Paul Oakenfold Mix)

This one goes back to when they first emerged on the scene (1991), when they were told to change their name to Massive because the first gulf war was on and using a name like Massive Attack would not go down well.

in the USSR they did not forbid you such things, but because of his Karelia Sibelius was not performed or recorded so I did not even know of him, and when my neighbor mentioned that Sibelius is 'forbidden' I just had to get his symphonies!
Until today he is still one of my 'Top-20' favorite composer, not in the first Ten league, but that is just me being a simpleton. My wife, who adores Stravinsky and Ligetti, she loves Sibelius more than me
What I can relate to is the Dude's saying that he outlived all the Doctors and friends who advised him to cut down on his drinking :) And I know first-hand that folks from that part of Europe know how to drink!! And to burn your latest Symphony which you nourished for years and years, ... this takes a Lot of drinking ... but we shall never know: maybe it was no good after all. Some of you folks may know of Ray Bradbury Sci-Fi story when they resurrected Thomas Wolfe to give him a chance to write his Ultimate Novel . Who knows, maybe the ending is not as romantic for the alcoholics? :(

Reminder to myself and warning to the community - never fall for the Angel, a budget EMI label. No matter how minty or sealed, they always have too many clicks and ticks

@autoreverser - TD124 is the TT my guru Art Dudley (of Listener and then Stereophile; sadly died last year of leukemia) got switched to after being (as I am!) a life-long Linn LP12 Sondek fan. Wish I Were There!!! TD 124 looks SO outdated, compared to @TooCooL4 beauty and some modern offerings...
and your preferences for tunes are weirdly the same as mine
