I was almost at my first concert in two years! It got postponed........
The Cure was here a few years ago playing our local ice arena, perfect venues for concerts, they seat about 15,000 (they block off behind the stage) and shows like this will easily sell-out.
This was all about the music, no flashy dance/lighting show. I feel like the amps on stage are fake, they had a lot of them.

I never got to see him in the 80's but he started touring around here in the 2000's, can anybody guess who this is?

    What is that RTB?

Howard plays much smaller venues, our coolest place only fits around 1200? That might even be stretching it. Those are the best places, there's barely a bad spot. Unfortunately over the last 10 years several music bars have closed up, live music is dying around here.

We have some nice clubs and we'll get singers doing the small venue/tour shows, here's one, can anybody guess this singer, yes, they still tour as a band but I think there's two versions.

Crappy phone photo, I found out he was in town an hour before the show and we headed straight downtown and got tickets....

The bands are coming back! This one was from a few years ago before Covid, I think there' only one original member, yep the guy on the bike but he still puts on a great show.

Another classic from 2017, this should be easy for most people. He played a smaller club down the street from me, tickets were out of reach at first but I scored a few days beforehand.

One of the greatest Pop Heavy Metal Bands out of the 80's, I've seen these guys in arenas and in clubs with a few dozen people back in the 2000's, Ratt loves Minnesota and I'd see them again but the life is catching up with them.....This is a little older, from 2014...

One of my favorites, Winger, they still tour with mostly original members, I just saw them last week but haven't been able to sync my phone photos yet. This is from 2014, I dont' know who the rhythm guitarist is, the other guy is Reb Beach.

Another from 2017, luckily we had some classic concerts before Covid hit, my little crappy Nikon actually got a pretty nice wide-angle shot on this one.

Owner of a Lonely Heart? From 2017 with Trevor Rabin, they played mostly older songs which was kind of surprising but still a great show!

We're not going to take it! Looking and sounding great for being over 60, Dee was all by himself in 2017, wow it feels like yesterday. A lot of these guys are over their prime now, I'm not sure what live music will look like going forward.

Time to update this thread with Let's Rock Southampton 2023.
    Boombox.JPG

It started with various artist playing with the the House Band.
59 year old Sinitta did have her Toy Boys with her though.
    Sinitta.JPG

Next up was The Farm. I think of them as being a recent band but checking on Wikipedia all their hits were between 1991 and 1995.
    The Farm.JPG

    Heaven17.JPG
Heaven 17 put on a good performance.
Here is a video from just a month ago. The Brothers in Rhythm extended remix of Temptation is now the one they always perform.

Go West could have applied to the weather. It was the first time it had rained at a concert I have been to and I was tempted to give up and go home.
    Go West.JPG

However, I was determined to see Kim Wilde. She was supposed to headline Let's Rock 2020 which got cancelled.
    Kim Wilde.JPG
As well as her own songs they did a pretty good version of M's "Pop Music" with her brother Ricky doing a good job on the male vocals.

After her the weather had improved so I stayed for the final two acts.
The Boomtown Rats, complete with Bob Geldof looking like an unkempt version of James May.
    Boomtown rats.JPG

Finally Soft Cell. By then it was too dark to take any decent photos.
Their singer Marc Almond headlined the 2021 show, which was better as it gave him a wider range of songs to perform.

With such a wide range of artists I am getting close to having seen all my favourites. Having seen Tiffany a few years ago Debbie Gibson is at the top of my retro wish list
