is there any mention on how Tom Sachs creations sound? Looks like COVID shutdown resulted in his biggest creation: "Big Pink, 2022" thankfully, we also have a few audio companies with artistic vision: B&W with their Nautilus series were, I believe, the first. Bang & Olufsen - my wife cannot live without some B&O in her art studio! Thankfully, B&O sound better than expected. And a few days ago I received a nice discount offer ($4k discount!) for this Hermes Boombox :
I like the Tom Sachs Effort and some of his other stuff I've seen is really neat but 70's boomboxes set their own standard (along with a ton of other consumer electronics). Industrial Design was clicking on all cylinders, predating the meeting with round-table sessions, and the equipment was beautiful. I'd love to see a different direction with more originality and not cut and pasting parts to make it look "artsy", and how come nobody does anything in clear plastic with killer internals? Give me "pumping" wiring, maybe a battery heart....... Funny you should mention B&O Jorge, I was just reading about the main designer for the 70's-80's yesterday. I love the equipment, I just have the 2400 Beosystem with the tiny-armed TT but it's a neat set-up. The Euro Speaker Plugs suck but I just took some flat spade wire connectors and make sure I don't accidently touch them. Some of the old Pioneer Recievers have those as well, you used to be able to get replacements for a few bucks directly from Pioneer.
I give respect to B&O for doing their "own thing" with regards to styling and design. Audiophiles seemed to laugh at them, though.....Watch this
B.O...used different companies for each and every thing they made...had a super pair of 70's headphones which were superb but gave them away donkeys moons ago and i forget mn, sadly most of there stuff doesn't sound that good though........not sure about there modern tall thin speakers but i wouldn't want them anyway........4k discount jorge wouldn't want the item but that has to be a record lad lol...sorry jorgge but i wouldn't pay £500 for that........just looked at you're link and nearly fell of my chair lol
B&O seem to be aimed at the type of people who shop in Harrod's who want something nice and are prepared to pay several £Thousands but want to see and hear something nice which is convenient to use. Back in the 1970s my friends Father was talking about getting a B&O system. Then he got into Koi carp and spent all his money on those, although he did end up running and Aquatics centre so turned his hobby into a second career. That Hermes "Boombox" looks like the sort of thing Crosley would sell for £300 and even then people would say it was a rip-off. It probably is made from the same parts. It makes the Brian Eno turntable @TooCooL4 was demonstrating seem like a bargain. @Mister X DIN speaker plugs are readily available https://www.ebay.com/itm/354198464914 Do a search for someone with better feedback. The speaker connectors I have, have two spade connectors, I think one is turned 90 degrees. 20 years ago they were very hard to find I have to believe there's cheap ones available now. I always loved the look of B&O Equipment and the set I have is a very nice build. I should pull down the reciever and check it with my Klipsch's, I bet it would sound nice. My impression was after the 80's they tried to copy Bose and the "Lifestyle" Equipment. Most of the Bose was pretty, but empty cases, I'm not sure if B&O also neglected the electronics. We had both stores at our Mall of America and both brands were mostly high-fashion generic, nothing spectacular out at the mall.
B&O design things that look good and sound just above average. I listened to the Beolab 28 speakers, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.
Yea toocool i'm sure they sound passible bro but just not my cup of tea.....someone had them about 5 years ago here but i never had the chance to audition them lad
Yo, Radio Raheem the Beolab 28 was not around 5 years ago, they are relatively new. I found a YouTube review of them by Andrew Robinson.

The exhibition featured both Bang & Olufsen and Jacob Jensen. This was an exceptional gesture of recognition as the museum had only arranged solo exhibitions on two previous occasions: an Olivetti exhibition in the 1930s and a Braun exhibition in the 1960s. Today Jacob Jensen Design is represented with 21 products in the design collections at MoMA.
