    Hi,
I've purchased the coveted DX100 recently, but it turned out to have a bad motor. It's stone dead.

If anyone has a DX100 for spare parts or a motor for it, please let me know.

Did you buy it as a working unit? If as a working unit, then send it back as not as described.

No, it was described as not working. I've had many Walkmans and only one of them had a bad motor - a WM-23. I just didn't think a high-end model like this would have a bad one.

    Okay I see.
Find out what motor it uses, I have loads of motors for the DD33's lying around. Just in case it's the same motor.

I have a DD33 and it's not the same motor. But I know what else uses the same one, two in fact.

    A DD9.

try to turn the motor manually and see if it rotates easily.

I never had a DX100 so I am not familiar with this model but there is a common problem with certain Sony walkman models:
Sony TCM600 and TCM 100 and BM12 which are all replica of TPS-L2 can have a frozen/dry motor that can be fixed easily. I had this issue with several of them. The motor needs to be removed and turned to different direction manually and with applying of some watch oil and repeatedly turning the motor manually it will start working again.

This one was stuck, I freed it up and it didn't make a difference. I just get a little click out of it and that's all, when I just use an AA battery to power it. There's a bit of corrosion around it, I bet the commutator brushes have corroded away and broken off.

Anyway, upon further investigation, the DD33 motor might work, but with removed external shielding. But to confirm, I'd need to get a picture of the DD33 motor without the outer sleeve.

A motor from the DD22 seems like it has a higher chance of being identical. TooCooL4, please let me know if you have some DD22 motors as well.

Edit: Both the DD22 and DD11 motors look like they'd fit right in.

Sorry I don't have any, I only have the DD33 spares as I no longer use DD33's.

Does anyone have the DX-100 battery door for sale? Mine was optically okay. Structurally though it was apparently not, as it cracked upon opening this week :(

I have some custom made battery doors for DX100. They look almost the same as the original one. PM me if you are interested.

Thanks for the perfect fitting replacement door @Phoenix Chan !
The plastic is a bit translucent (not entirely black), but once fitted to the unit it is not noticeable and looks very good. The quality is excellent.

Just reach out, I find it hard to believe only very few were produced given the quality.
The sidecar is relatively common, right? I’ll try to check if also the later MD compatible ones fit, they can be easily sourced.
