Rolling Stone from 1982 with some info on speakers for your Walkman including the Numark I've posted and some of the Mura, Technidyne offerings. I love the Denon Headphones in the cassette case! And by the way, where can I get one of those killer jackets?

How did it get its signal, the antenna?

That's a great question and I don't know. Somebody pulled a patent on FM cassettes that might show more of how they are put together, maybe Toshiba? They never had an antenna but I thought AM might need one a longer one. My uber rare Toshiba RP-A2 AM Cassette Radio also does not have an external antenna. It's a heavy cassette, there's stuff in it but I have no idea how it works. They used a contact pin connector, I'm guessing there's some circuits inside the player, maybe some antenna?

Some neat stuff from 1983 including the highly sought after DBX PPA-1 Noise Reduction for Walkmans.

From the summer of love 1984, Rolling Stone Magazine. Some cool insight into what the musicians were using including a FH7 for recording keyboards.

They put a DD9 picture next to the DX100 description. They're clearly talking about the DX100, as the DD9 does not have AMS function.

Indeed! Also AVLS, or remote control ('afstandsbediening') are not present on the DD9; none of the DDs had a remote.

Rolling Stone Magazine 1986, some mention of the new CD portables and a tiny blurb about the Marantz PMD 430 with DBX!
