Hi. I'm enjoying the forum. I've been a fan of boomboxes since the 80s. Only recently had enough money to begin to buy some of my favourite boxes.

Here's me in 1987 with my first box. Can anyone guess what model it is?

New here too. I can't guess at the model but looks like a JVC or Sanyo? Hopefully being in this group will get me investigating and learning more about the models outside the USA. I'm seeing that most of the members here have knowledge more advanced than mine.

Welcome to the forum! I'm not good at identifing boomboxes even though I have an impressive collection.

Seeing all the unusual models really got me excited back in the early days of the forum, there were some really knowledgeable members that had these beautiful portables, equipment we never saw for sale back home. Stereo Microcassette is one great example, I never knew they existed until reading up on them here.

Yes, the info on here has been really helpful. It's a Hitachi TRK 7720E. I remember it costing £70. I found a couple (in poor condition) on ebay recently and am attempting to restore at least one of them.
