Now that I found my orange grail, I can show you the complete family. The blue WM2, as it may be a myth, is invisible in the picture like the original transparent versions of WM2 an WM-F5. A long journey is over. Thanks for all the knowledge we all share at S2G. Impossible to collect Walkman without this source of wisdom.
Congrats ! That's quite an achievement @Mystereo , it's all there , the blue WM2 is not a myth but might didn't go beyond the prototype stage , last seen several year ago in the Walkman room (Sony headqurters) but not there in more recent photos.
I don’t know what it is The origin is unknown. We discussed it already in the King of rarities Thread https://stereo2go.com/forums/threads/king-of-rarity.2559/page-5
Amazing! Do you mind if I upload the picture to Walkman.land? PM me if you have a specific link for credits, like boxedwalkman I usually write: reused with permission. The transparent one is a unicorn as discussed in the other thread; should help diagnose the cracked gear and observe the motor/disc engagement. D6 and D6C you obviously left out of the picture to test us ?
I’ll send you a PM. The D6(C) don’t fit in my pocket I don’t own one of them. I had to say enough is enough.
This is by far the most complete picture I have seen, regardless of the D6 family. I don’t really consider them portable either, although they might have fit in my 90s grunge wider jeans. The 6 colors F5, the later white release of the WM-2, both the DX100 variants close to its big brother and playback king the DD9, this is it!
Oh sorry! That’s to hard Your mission is to poke in the fog. Much more ambitious. You never know when you have finished. Mine was more filling a collector’s album. And I don’t have a single cloneman to help you but much respect! Carry on!
Cheers to that @autoreverser , I recently got my first (and only) Sony sports device. Different series altogether (NW-S21), worth a celebration though!
@Mystereo Congrats - this is quite an achievement. The completeness of your collection is extraordinary and unique, as well as your commitment to dig up all these gems and keep them working.
Hello mystereo, Beautiful collection ! I want to start adding to my Walkman collection since I only have one Sony but I do have like 3 Sony Walkman Tv's does that count Machaneus thank you for posting that Photo . Sony has made some amazing stuff in the past and having a repairshop which was a Authorized dealer and Warranty repairshop I own a lot diffrent Sony items . Sincerely Richard
Wow, I can only say that it's impressive! I can imagine how long have you been working to get all that. I have most of the real DDs (I mean excluding the DD11, DD22 and all that) Beside that I think there are only two models missing: the ultra rare WM-D3 without the 'walkman' word embossed (instead it has a 'D3' embossed) and the ultra-elusive Red Boodo Khan....
The TC-D3 is not a member of the Walkman gang! If you have a different opinion, be careful. I have a lethal WM-2. Don‘t mess with Somy.
