The seller is from Massachusetts. Stated that this walkman is in excellent working and cosmetic condition

    PROS:

very reasonable price for a D6C in working condition
    Seller has 100% positive feedback
    international shipping available

    CONS:
corrosion along one edge of one battery contact (battery compartment can be replaced with another one)

after i placed this post noticed that the seller removed the "buy it now" option. This was the original posting from the seller:
NEW LISTING Sony Walkman Professional WM-D6C w/ ECM-909 Stereo Mic, Case, Strap.
    • C $157.50
    • 0 bids
    • C $229.69 ( which is equal to 175 USD)
    • Buy It Now

A TPS-L2 in the box is an item that any walkman collector should have in his/ her collection

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-Boxe...341522?hash=item3612110dd2:g:yzwAAOSwopRYmKUQ

    PROS:
    seller has 100% positive feedback
as for now the price is very low. without international shipping probably the price wont go up crazy.

    CONS:
    Doesn't work. It needs repair
international shipping not available ( Item is in England)
headphone pads are not original (this is my guess) as far as i know the TPS-L2 headphone pads are orange color

Is it just me or are most of these overpriced? I don't think a DD11 is worth that much, you can get better DD machines for that money...
The D6C for $175 is a good deal though.

I find that I have to hunt very hard on ebay to get a good deal on most desirable Walkmans. So far my best ebay finds are a red P02 mkII, DD33 for 30-40 usd each, 702 for $15.
I guess the best tactic to get nice Walkmans on ebay for lower than average prices is to check ebay all the time for BINs, and look for inaccurate listings.
As most Walkmans need a service or belt replacement anyway, I don't find non-working condition a deal breaker.

Well, I agree with you, but those you found probably didn't come with box and accessories. I guess when a walkman comes with its original packaging collectors are willing to pay higher prices. So all the things i found and placed here have their own flaws. But if i had your expertise definitely would buy that DD11 with box and accessories for 179 Euros. So why dont you buy that one fix it and sell it to me and i pay your price ;)

It is not very common to find walkman that owned by "dude" (Big Lebowski) on Ebay easily.
Anyway here is your chance to add dude's walkman to your collection

    http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Sony-Walkman...377138?hash=item36138f1132:g:QkQAAOSwdGFYtikH

    PROS:
most of the collectible walkmans are expensive, this one is cheap
the walkman is seen several times in "big Lebowski" movie

    CONS:
seller only ships to US and Canada
walkman doesn't work, most probably needs belt ( needs 2 belts)
the quality of this walkman is not great

I'd get it, but I'd need someone to proxy it and send it to me. Khan,if you'd ask them if they'd send it to Australia, that would be great.

Not easy to find a cheap SOLAR walkman for only 80$ at the moment.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/401313219151?ul_noapp=true

    Pros:
    - Its a SOLAR walkman, the money you save on AA batteries in itself is reason enough
    - They are hard to come by
    - Cheap for what is

    Cons:
    - Needs repair, could be the belt, or messed up PCB, or broken internals.
    - Cosmetically nothing is broken, it just some heavy duty scrubbing and a whole pack of q-tips.

If i wasn't a freshman nearing financial bankruptcy, I'd buy this ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's not going to end at 80,
it also can't run tapes on the solar panel, and even if you could, doing so today will quickly ruin the plastic for such a rare machine.
