I’ve been poking around eBay and doing some Internet searches for AM/FM cassette recorders similar to the Panasonic RX-2700 or Sony WA-8000. Can’t seem to find much.

I love the “longer rectangle look”of those units.
Not interested in the short rectangular look like a regular Walkman.

    Built-in speaker is a must.

Can anyone list similar units from any manufacturer?

To clarify, you're looking for a forward-facing speaker with a cassette player mono but small like a Walkman and it has to be well that's it. Would you consider a small or even mini not micro AMFM cassette radio stereo?
I may have a few of this style.
When I get back inside I'll poke around and see what I have and post a few pictures okay?

The RX-2700 has a forward facing speaker, the Sony is on the backside. Prefer forward facing but back speaker is ok too. It can have mono or stereo speakers but it has to be tiny and look more like a Walkman. I really love the way the RX and the WA look. It’s the form factor I’m in love with more than anything else.

Man, you’ve got the goods! What a collection.
That Toshiba RT-SF10 is what I’m talking about. Wasn’t aware it existed till just now. Super nice little radio. Partial metal case is a big plus. I really appreciate the effort and the info.
Trying to start a small collection of these small radios. I’m tight on space and funds lol.
If you have one in nice cosmetic condition with a functional FM radio (cassette function optional), shoot me a PM with a price!

    Check out this thread

I love the little ones, I've got over 40 sitting above my computer monitor, they don't take up much space. It took awhile since they don't come up for sale often or they want silly money for them. The whole Sony WA Series is nice, I think most have a speaker either on the front or back.

The Toshiba and tiny JVC in C2G's Photo are nearly impossible to find, at least in the USA.

C2G, you should post some of your little guys on the mini thread!

I bought a Sony Wa-33, not as long as the 8000 but a similar unit. Speaker is on the back.
Maybe search for one of these.
