Saturday morning I took the five screws out of the back and the back lifts up from the back and you have to unplug the two antenna wires and that is it and then you can remove the back in its entirety and then continue on. Here's a picture. 17226995523495365268455211038735.jpg
The one short screw goes into the battery compartment and all the rest are long. So if you get one it's missing screws. You know what goes where. 17226997219819066747767683645617.jpg
    Better picture
Removing the chassis you have to take out on the left hand side from the back, a short screw and then a long screw from the battery compartment and then on the right hand side. Just one screw beneath the handle above the business end where the inputs and outputs are little tiny machines thread screw so you can remove the chassis from the front of the unit and all she have to remove these the three knobs on top but leave the rest of the thing is intact. Here's a picture as I can
    17227005294701488825554973912556.jpg
Okay that's upside down but I should know because one side uses a short screw and the other one uses a long screw. So make a note of that. Just rotate the picture in your head.
    17227006930562291524504217617517.jpg
Once I get the chassis separated from the front of the unit. I'll start a new.

I can't believe it. I don't believe I'll be able to repair this unit because I haven't even got it open yet or that is separated from the front as I'm now looking down between the front and looking at the head and I can see that someone tried adjusting the azimuth and adjusted the screw right out of the head

because the head is at an angle and I don't see a screw in there and then dropped out when I opened it up. So I'll try and give you a picture. Hot damn. Oh golly 17227011039751728909892435125838.jpg
Let's try another picture that doesn't come out very good.
    17227012116452975471325604826499.jpg
Maybe I can find the screw off of another something I might have lying around. I hope so.

Well the trim unglued itself 17227019611699142965469670352755.jpg
As I finally coaxed the item open but not apart yet. Let me explain.
    17227020437718434028587284628267.jpg
The amss button needs to be removed from the front inside the back of the front as all those wires go to it. There's two screws to remove that and then I can flop the inside chassis guts over and be able to access the cassette deck belts. But also this motor has a off the motor speed or pitch control circuit board. Let me show you that
    17227021520736003906379484061116.jpg
Although I got upside down again but it's a little brown board. Just follow the wires from the motor and you see the little silver screw adjustment right next to the motor on the brown board.

I think this is a one belt flat belt. Very small operated cassette deck but I haven't taken it fully apart yet. But I've gotten to this point where I've determined that in fast forward mode that the belt is very loose. Let me show you 17227068393377796143948652441866.jpg
Now let me show you inside 17227068835232603796646390602337.jpg
I have my pic pulling on the belt showing that it's very loose and almost coming off of the flywheel. It's not rotating right now. I believe the Sanyo m7770 k model is similar in cassette deck design to this. 17227070672623833481994321806218.jpg
The big metal plate has be removed to gain access to the belt removal, this is not easy to do you need lots of patience.

Okay I got the plate off and belt removed 17227084021712849482366737577134.jpg
Here is the old belt I removed it's very thin. Maybe 2 mm thick or wide?.
    17227084985028728339048800841661.jpg
    I measure about 128 mm
    1722708602733553749129708491541.jpg
The closest I have to the old belt above is 112 mm. I think I'll try that.

I'm pointing to the original belt
17227181883341072285163208830651.jpg Original belt is a 2 mm flat belt. I've never seen one before. Let me measure it for you to prove it to you 17227179727463145253090393820952.jpg
I have never seen a flat belt pulley this small before
    17227180867526000462170258272217.jpg
Ended up putting a square belt that I had that was extra thick in there there and I'm pointing to the original flat belt next to a few other candidates which didn't work because they're too wide.
    1722718254687154512105163384764.jpg
Glad I don't have any more of this model because this is the only belt like this I have. I'd have to order more.
Now I just got to clean the rest of it and put this back together

Well I put it all back together and rewind wouldn't work. Let me show you why. 17228033673934135981365921521591.jpg
This is the off position of the white wheel.
    17228034159071003675444741961508.jpg
This is the fast forward position and notice the position of the white wheel. 17228035307771741337606514372101.jpg
This is The rewind position of the white wheel, if you install a belt that is too tight then when you depress the rewind it will not allow this wheel to move to the right.
    17228036608367002697863077430660.jpg
This is play mode and the white wheel does not move at all. It stays in its normal position.
The Sanyo m7770k, has the same single belt arrangement and if the belt is too tight, one of your rewind or fast forward buttons will not work. So you must have the right tensioned belt installed. This is what I've learned about the Sanyo models That utilize a single belt and use a pendulum swing for the different, fast forward and rewind functions of its Jack shaft.
So now that it all works I'm going to again. Painstakingly put all these little bits back together and then I found a itsy bitsy teeny tiny little machine thread screw for the head so I was able to play a cassette but I still need to adjust the azimuth. The DC input Jack is still not going to be serviceable although it will work on batteries if you sit there and hold the DC. Jack in place it will get power otherwise it needs to have the entire Jack replaced because it's not a cold solder joint. It is internal. The Jack needs to be replaced. But I operate these on batteries so no worries for me.

4 August 2024 I got a education ass there is no place in fairly all of Dallas that sells electronic componet parts.
I finally had to put gas into my 2021 CT-125s Honda, to keep going.
    PXL_20240805_174543307.MP.jpg

So last night I had to buy these online.
5PCS PJ-102AH DC Power Jack RCP 3 POS Solder Pot RA Thru-Hole 3 Terminal 1 Port
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/225550130589
Now I have to wait for those to come in, because I really need to power this that way to test as to be able to operate this on batteries as the case is part of the battery compartment on this model, grrr. This is as it is too hard to get to that to solder it in taking it all apart again...
Maybe in 5 days these will get here and then I can finish it.
I dont want to but I gotta keep busy so I will start something else

Once upon a time the old Radio Shack stores would have these. That was my favourite store as a kid. I bought everything from there. Nowadays one would have to live in the same city as the Mouser or Digikey warehouses to find anything local now. And I bet they wouldn't even sell small quantities in person either. But those jacks, yes, I have bags of em' along with other sizes and the plugs to fit and switches and so on etc., always come in useful. E-bay components from China.

All I have is a bag of capacitors 17230534831445453181452408695349.jpg
And all I need is two of those through the board DC input. Jack, so send me a couple if you would. Thanks!

I'll pop a few of them into the teleport cabinet and shoot em' down there for ya. What were your space time coordinates again? Back to reality though, it would take weeks to get there and all the customs forms to fill and all that, better to just order online, Amazon if a vendor there has them in USA, would get them in a few days probably.

Today Monday is 12 August 2024, as if you scroll up previously on Tuesday I made a posting about buying these five DC plugs from eBay. It arrives today. I say it because they only sent me one and the listing clearly says five pieces. Luckily for me when they sent me the one they also sent me a little register tape showing my order number and their other number and all the other bladder but also included their phone number. Woohoo! So I called them and explained to them and Maria called me back in 40 minutes or so and discovered that they will send me the other four, I'll be happy about that when they get here.
It's 6:30 at night and I just now unsoldered the old DC port and let me show you before I solder it back in the old versus the new. 1723505315283410391993541422406.jpg
I'm holding the old one in the pliers.
    17235062668315649561995227708704.jpg
I got the new one soldered on and it works! Yay.
    1723506364232161383043429426089.jpg
Now I got to go back through it and adjust and clean deoxit. And see about super gluing the panel back on and putting it all back together.

480-464-2485 is the number on the receipt from ebay so I called them, spoke to Maria.

Now the other 4 are arriving this coming Friday Yaaay.

Adjusting the speed of the motor. It's off the motor on a separate circuit board.
Today is 13 August 2024. Let me show you where to insert your jeweler screwdriver to adjust the speed or pitch.
    17235701486056530302779024235793.jpg
I know you cannot see it in this picture, but if you know where the motor is on the other side of the unit you can adjust the motor speed from the other side as well because well you can because hard to explain. You can see it from both sides or you can reach it from either side.
    17235702771403812352300736426467.jpg
This little hole just off of the end of the battery terminal is where you can adjust. It's the one in the center.
    17235703729762218918251790893014.jpg
You could probably reach this from the battery compartment without taking it apart to adjust the speed if needed.

Another one ready to ship out. At this rate you should be able to clear at least 1 full shelf by Christmas
    Only 20 shelves to go!

Yes, I removed the speakers and painted the grills.
    17235747524781656968622318478609.jpg
Once the grill's dry, the next step is to super glue the panel back on once I get it back together.
