Gidday and thanks for letting me join, have been a tape fanatic for all my life and just love the concept. I got this from my father as he worked for Phillips in Holland and had one of the first tape decks. I own a Sony CF-550A in great condition withe factory owners manual also it great condition. I am here to get some info advice on what to do with one of my Walkmans (one of far too many) wife thinks I’m nuts Unfortunately I lent one out (I have 2 D6C’s) the one I lent was getting tired but it came back sounding like it was on all the time and plays fast.(worth fixing? or keep for parts? or sell on?) But I will post a thread or find one about it if I can. I have also owned and still do An Aiwa AD-F990 from new and have all my gear serviced regularly, belts etc. but haven’t had to get repairs down as a good technician is hard to find. I love the classic Sanyo’s as well and have a few of their Walkman versions. Tapes yeah got a few (too many the wife would say) and I honestly have to say most if not all including the original ones I first purchased still play well (so much for that they would last just 30 years ♂️) Anyway I absolutely love the medium of tapes, travel regularly to Europe and the Uk. Hopefully I can contribute a bit of my knowledge and help fellow nut out. As well as gain some. Cheers from Kiwi land Kiwinut
Welcome to the forum! Some of us have walls full of equipment, I love checking out my gadgets and playing music.
I used to work and live there(Townsville) but came back home. Maybe I might retire there . Cheers Kiwinut
