Is there anything wrong with playing a walkman for up to 10 hours a day, every day? As long as the motor is kept lubricated every so often? Not worried so much about replaceable parts like gears but would this kill the motor?
Oh I definitely do, pretty much using it as my primary music source all day while I work, hence the question. I spent a lot of time and effort in restoring this particular walkman so don't want to overuse it to the point that the motor dies within a couple of months after all that!
I have a D6C and honestly use it about 10 hrs a week. And still going strong, it has had one major service and that was about 2 years ago. Still sounds awesome, but saying that I am in my late 50’s so my hearing may be going (lol) ‘Cheers Kiwinut
I It was heavier in the 80’s and nineties(at least 40hrs a week)and to be fair I can’t play it during the day because of my work, but 4-500 hours a year isn’t too bad. And I have other mediums of music that I listen too.(CD’s) Cheers Kiwinut
