Hello good people. I have two offers and annoy deside what to do, please lets discuss the matter. I have first offer for sony tc-k222esl which is japanese model and works on 110v but in my country I have 220v so I would need to buy a stepdown voltage converter from 220v to 110v. The deck is offered for 350 usd. I read some reviews on sony and lots of people say that it re ords quite bad on type 2 and 4 tapes without modding the deck. I need a deck which can record great. The second offer is pioneer ct-s630s. I ha e a dual deck cheapo pioneer deck ct-w803rs which surprisingly records quite well but it is a 2 head deck so if tape is shitty I could only find that out after recording on it and listening to it, had that bad experiance lots of times. So I desided to search for a 3 head deck. that pioneer 630s is offered for 110 usd. Please tell me which one to get? and why. Thank you all in advance.
Sorry I can't help you, there were so many different decks made back then. I'd probably head over to www.worldradiohistory.com and try to find some old reviews. I'm kind of thinking the Sony is the better deck. https://audio-database.com/SONY-ESPRIT/player/tc-k222esl.html
In Europe Georgia I would get the pioneer because it matches your voltage without having to go through a step up or down transformer thing which would introduce noise possibly to your device. This thread is 2 weeks old. Have you bought anything yet?
