Has anyone reported issues with being able to fully erase metal Type IV tapes with a Sony WM-D6C Walkman? I have seen posts where even some handheld degaussers (Realistic) could not do the job cleanly.

Well, from knowing what I know about metal tapes in general, I don't try to erase them. I only record on them once and that's it. If I want a fresh recording on a metal tape, I simply get another metal tape and record on it. I don't Even tried to erase metal tapes. It's not worth it to do so.

WHERE do you get "fresh metal tapes"? I thought they were no longer manufactured.

Yes, back in 2007-2008 roughly me and a person by the name of Dr. Bo in eBay bought out all of Tower records distribution center when they went on sale back then. So I spent around $5,000 on cassette tape back then. Present day. I just haven't used them all and probably won't so...

You can still buy new old stock, they will just cost you a lot.

You can erase and re-record on any metal cassette, you just need a good recorder to do so. My Nakamichi CR-7 does this with ease, but like Cassette2go says I don’t see the point. Not in my case anyway, I still have stacks of TDK MA-XG’s still sealed and unused. I never re-record on any cassette.

And quite a lot other sealed doing the package never been opened tapes by Sony Fuji triad that's and a few other brands. I thought I was going to make more recordings but I'm pretty much happy with the ones I've already made and never needed to make more mixtapes because the ones I have still work and play great so I have quite a few extra blanks here

I very rarely make recordings these days, I only really made recordings of music I want to take out on the Walkman with me. I already have plenty to take out and about with me, so really, I just play the original vinyl while at home as that is the only way to get the best sound. I have no need to really play the cassettes at home.

I wish I had the room to be organized with my cassette music collection, but I just don't have The room to do so so everything's in boxes. Except for a select few I just found this cassette and I'm playing it in a boombox on batteries because this model won't accept the power cord because there's a cold solder joint but I don't have enough time to repair it 17276422006913802881710669601883.jpg
Sanyo m7790 is the boombox I'm playing in.

Well I've been outside now reading posts and listening to that exact album 17276451864267589311891167750782.jpg
Once again the same. Sanyo m7790 I don't need a huge boombox to play music and I can carry this around easily with my handicap. 17276452957811678045778511963911.jpg
Yes, the veterans administration cut off my left foot toes due to diabetes on the 8th of January 2020 right before covid. Did I forget to mention that I'm a veteran of the US army and the US Navy 3 years in the army, 2 years in the Navy and by way of the army spent 2 years in Germany and by way of the Navy went on a 7-month Westpac cruise from San Diego to Africa and back on a boat the Acadia ad-42.

Are these selfmade racks, or was you able to buy them in a shop ? Never seen such racks, only the smaller ones, for about 60 cassettes.

soluna i designed it and had a company make it for me, it was designed to hold all my cassettes with room for expansion. I designed it to fit a space in my old flat, but when I moved I was lucky it still fitted in the new space. The bottom 2 shelfs are designed to hold double height cassettes.
