Hi everyone! Chris here AKA Lasonic TRC-920. I'm a collector, rebuilder and restorer. I'm also co-editor and writer at Boombox Magazine with my brother Will. My path into this close knit society started in the 80's, was lost in the 90's and 00's and was found again in 2009 when I found http://pocketcalculatorshow.com/ while looking for pictures of my old radio (TRC-920). That discovery led me to Stereo2Go and Boomboxery. Now, all these years later and after countless restorations and rebuilds, my collection includes the biggest and most desireable radios ever built. But none of it would have ever been possible without this society. It's simply not possible to repair a radio or replace missing parts without all of you! So I thank you for making it possible to have the fine collection I own today! See you on the boards!
Glad you made it over Chris, your leaving quite a mark on the boombox community yourself with your resto threads and your magazine so from all of us your thanks is returned. I never thought there would be a mag dedicated to these things we love, there is something quite special about a coffee and a browse through a new mag on a Sunday morning !
Thank you T, I agree, I think the magazine, like with anything else, is evolving and will get better with time. We are adding people to our team that will improve the writing. We are adding equipment that will improve the photography. As you mentioned, to simply have a magazine that expresses our hobby in print to ADD to our collection or hand to someone that has never seen a boombox collection.
Yo Chris, great that you and so many members from boomboxery made it over. Your enthusiasm is contagious and the magazine is already a landmark. Waiting forward to meeting you next Spring
SAL! Yes We will have to do some BLASTING when I get to Italy. It's going to be great to meet you, really looking forward to it. Thank you for the kind words on that magazine. We'll have to comer the Italian Boombox scene!
Ruben, It was great to hang out with you and crank them all up! We should have done that years ago . Keep the West Coast scene alive for me till I get back
He's even better in person Chris! Sal's one of the best this hobby has and you won't be disappointed. Just watch out...he has a knack for spotting "boomboxes in the wild" even when travelling!
Yeah meeting Sal will be a trip, your a lucky guy Chris. I have a feeling there are going to be some grail finds in the wild for Chris.....
