Bush detachable from 1982. I'm sure there must be an AKA of this but looking through the thread I haven't spotted it.

The specific model was made firstly by Orion as pst-1 .
After was rebranded from Amstrad as 8090 model and from Sencor as S-5600.
    Still made by Orion.
Really interesting model but with many problems.

I don't know if that's or an AKA (also known as) but it's a great looking boombox.

I know for us kids, anything that might be close to a James Bond Gadget was gold back then. Small radios and TVs qualified and these Kangaroo Boxes were even better. As most know, this stuff was very expensive, even the cheaper Yorx Stuff was more costly than a good Sanyo Sportster.

Wait, even Diatone had a kangaroo model? It sure looks like the Diatone TX-54 from 1984 qualifies. I think the speakers come off and the unit keeps the handle, similar to the Technics Tape Deck.

Davis makes and entry! The Davis SEL-268 is from Hong Kong and has those crazy-cool propeller grills.

That Sony is really nice looking but I don't know anything about it. I'm glad there's money in the older radios, for awhile it seemed like the market was sinking but I think the wonderful design and colors make them great up on the shelves.

A little off-topic, Panasonic had the CX-Series of car stereos in the early 1970's and they used the "Kangaroo" Style. I didn't research this much so don't go buying without doing some of your own research. These seem to be readily available and probably pretty popular especially with the up and coming compact cassette adapter. As a kid, any gadget like this was the fashizzle.

The base unit, it accepts 8-tracks without mods.
