You have to copy-paste the images to Google's Image Translator. Hit the image button at the top. I could do it but it takes forever, I usually end my session with several open pages of stuff to post but run out of time. Hopefully you enjoy the posts!

I wonder if the design helped with the price point, I should copy that field recorder test article from Walkman Archaeology to here to compare the pricing. How does the little Sony R2R compare to the Nagra?

when i have my phase of playing around with them, i come to the conclusion, the Sony makes the best recordings of those units i have.
my Nagra III probably had the hardest life, but it's that tough built, you can throw it off a running car and it will survive. the Nagra III is mono and a few years older, the Sony and Uher are stereo, but besides that, the Nagras are the most professional units. built like a swiss chronometer etc., but handling is a bit strange, if you don't use it permanent. also funny adapters for this and that (i think you know what i mean), plain fast winding in any direction takes an effort, where the Sony and the Uher are much more easy and self explaining. clear control-switches and buttons... however, my insignificant ranking as collector (and weirdo) off my units:

    top#1 Sony TC510/2
    top#2 Nagra SN
    top#3 Nagra III
    top#4 Uher 4400 Monitor

...but please ask me again in a few month, i'm convinced, the ranking has changed :hi

What year did that come out? I don't think I've seen it before.

Sony was big into making everything smaller, this must have been one of their last before smaller designs came. It makes me wonder what the smallest VU meter is? The Marantz PMDs have round dials about 1" diameter. Older equipment had the small square style but they weren't as cool looking. Thanks for sharing.

A cool Philips from 1964, it's neat to see the evolution of these from big metal boxes to tiny units. I wonder what she's doing, it looks like a mainframe computer but check out the Victorian Desk, kind of steam punk.

    Mission completed. Los tres amigos.
    Sony TC-510-2 (1975-80) + Sony EL-D8 (1978-80) + Sony TC-164SD (1976-81)
Completing this Sony "mini collection" with round VU meters was quite a challenge [IMG]

Does anybody have knowledge of this Philips D6920? This has been on Reverb for a few years, just wondering if it has the soft plastic gears Philips is known for. You won't hurt my feelings if you pick it up but it is on my radar. It's a little different I think it can cue up to a slide machine, similar to a Tascam 133 I have but I don't know if it also has crappy sonics, it does say Stereo on it so it probably sounds pretty good.
