The Tivoli SongBook Max is a glorious, quirky, premium piece of audio gear. Arrived yesterday and I’m blown away!!

VERY old school feel. mechanical EQ sliders, metal toggle switches, solid and heavy!

I delayed buying it for almost 2 years. Now that I own it, the question is why? Truth is - in the world of cheap, disposable consumer electronics, it’s expensive. In the case of the SongBook Max, it’s never been more true that “You get what you pay for”. Price is $600 - on sale right now for $480.

The sound quality is outstanding. Powerful, clear, premium sound. The crazy part is that it’s MONO! 1 woofer, 1 mid-range, 1 tweeter. Build quality is exemplary, and the aesthetics are gorgeous. It’s physical art that you can listen to. I heard a quote years ago that I think perfectly sums up the SongBook Max - “When something is thoroughly well done, it often has the air of being a miracle”. A truly outstanding product that I’m overjoyed to own!

    Tivoli Audio SongBook MAX

50W RMS mono 3-way speaker (woofer, mid, tweeter)

    FM radio + Aux-in with built-in preamp

    Analog EQ sliders (bass/mid/treble)

    10hr battery | USB-C fast charging

    Bluetooth 5.3 | IPX4 splash-resistant

    Retro design with carry handle

I quite like this manufacturer, I owned this system for quite a few years.

Interesting concept. I wonder how many they have sold these last couple of years?

I will go look up youtube vids of this now. Out of curiosity

That set up is SWEET! I’ve never seen separate components like that from Tivoli!

Not sure how well it’s selling. Right now, I feel like it’s one of portable audio’s best kept secrets. I haven’t seen a ton of stuff online about it.
The most impressive part of the SongBook Max is the granular vocal details. It’s like 8K on the vocal track.

For an outside portable you only really need mono, it looks like it came out recently, I wonder if it will show up at Target, they used to carry the radio from the smaller system above. Of course mister x has the much older Kloss Version.

I think Target would be a perfect fit as a mass retailer.
I’ve seen it on Crutchfield, B&H Photo, and the other usual suspects.
I hope Tivoli has success with this radio. It’s a fantastic piece of hardware.

There is so much opportunity for a quality portable speaker system, sure there's been a few, at least they look good from a distance. 45 years ago there was hundreds of different versions available and they were very popular, it still surprises me when I don't see them these days, nobody had one at the rink yesterday and it would have been a perfect time for some before-practice music.
