Cathode Ray Dude on YouTube has some interesting videos that can get into some depth. This video came out when the thread began, wonder if he's nosing around the forum?
Sony had a cool MD Video Camera, I love these newer gadgets but did I see this retailed for over $1000 USD? Definately not in my old budget.

The guy posts on minidisc sub on Reddit all the time. TBH his prices don’t seem too bad.

I can only imagine how many cool 3d gadgets they would have made back in the 80's if the printers were around. I do remember seeing an early version of a resin printer on TV back then and thought that will be a fun tool someday, didn't think it would take 30 years though.

True. Then again, even colour inkjets weren’t great until about 2000..

I threw my color injet out the window along with any fax machines I could find. I've been using color laser for years and love it.

I still have an all in one ink jet. Whenever I need a new printer the lasers are never on sale of course .. hardly print ever so not to worried.

Found the whole article, I think from 1991. Notice how it's called the "Digital Audio Disc-Corder."

Kenwood's fancy MD Boombox, I don't know the year but there is a website address so maybe late 90's? The round grills look better to me, anybody own one of these?

Our friend tas66dc posted this a few years ago, a very rare MD Brochure from 1994. I've seen discussions that early brochures might have had Michael Jackson as the main artist but they ended up with Mariah Carey. Looking at album pricing, wow, from 2800 - 4600 Yen! I was buying 11 for 1 CD's from the music club for around $25 USD total, no way I could afford this format, even blank discs were expensive.
