I watched that when it came out, I was surprised to see the longer format. I usually watch these while cleaning the kitchen so I got a lot done! I would love to know the design cycle of some of these monsters. I'm sure they had bullet points of all the features they could include and some might have been crossed off. How quickly could they crank out a big design like this in the fastly changing cassette world? How much development money did it take? Too bad we may never know.

I know the moaner reads the forum but come on Tech, there's a thread on here showing the Bell & Howell Boombox (TM) from 1970. Yes they trademarked "boombox!"

A very nicely presented browse through a 1985 Argos catalogue, starting with the audio gear.

Coincidentally I have a new sealed BASF Chrome cassette like the one shown in an advert at the end sat on my desk here. I didn't realise it was that old, although "Made in Germany" suggests it was made after 1989.

After the intro, the host goes through a small part of his very large Sony Collection.

A wall of tape decks probably recording around the clock , handwritten notes on the right of each deck no cassette door for fast access autoreverse seems mandatory.
I can't confirm it but I read that you could pick the cassette out of the Dual C828 even while at play or record because photo sensors stopped immediately the transport mechanism.
    No lazy music listening here.

I'm looking at this thread and it seems like Sony doesn't like their commercials being posted on YT. There's a ton that have been taken down and most are for Sony. I would think anything that generates (free) interest in the company would be beneficial but someone is saying take them all down.

Every other comment under the videos is usually that Sony is a shadow of its former self. Soon they will be taking down Playstation 5 adverts as they will remind people of when you could buy (and later resell) games on physical media.

On a more positive note I just found this nice compilation of UK technology adverts
