That kind of squeak makes me thinking that something is getting in the way of the gears when they spin, have you had a look? When you listen to tapes do they play uninterrupted despite the noise?

Maybe something is wrong with the motor, did try it with a different motor. Or it seems like something hits the motor, you can the motor move a little bit every time when there is a squeak.
