      This is a great project!
      A couple of questions:
      - The charger chip seems to be TC4056A at 1A which is good for a typical 3.7V 1.1A Lithium battery. Since the original Aiwa cell spec is 2V, you could mount a resistor for a ~1.5V drop which for the typical 150mA walkman draw in ffwd or rew gives: (3.7 - 2.2) V / 150mA = 10Ω.

Alternatively one can use two diodes in series whose voltage drop is 2 x 0.7V = 1.4V so we get 2.3V with whatever draw the machine requires.
      - Is this safe to do? :smoke

@Virgil Gheorghiu Hi there, yes you could do it the ways you mentioned, I just like the built-in short circuit and thermal protection the regulator uses!

      Kind regards Warren
