      Hi @Shaman32
      Are those ceramic capacitors?
This is certainly a cleaner repair job then my own. That pcb looks quite similar to the aiwa p50.
Im having issues with mine where i cant get the play or stop button to engage. Have you ever dealt with something like this?
Your advice/suggestions would be very helpful.

@Command8 Hi 8, those little yellow ones are Tantalum

@Command8 additionally Yes I have encountered a problem with the symptom you described!
Right, check the 2 electrolytic capacitors nearer the back end of the player,
I am 100%but I think they provide a lump of joules energy for the solenoid actuator which moves the mechanism, I think it performs long signal and short signal, the 2 push buttons can be problematic check continuity, the solenoid itself can go wrong (rarely) but if it is possible always check, and of course any associated components of that part of the functioning, also just make sure anything which contacts to switch current through is nice and clean and able to conduct,
And that for Generally throughout as every little helps and is slightly better that just getting it going but finessing it as well as getting it going!
