I've been an analog enthusiast since I was about 3 years old. I am active on other forums such as Tapeheads, and am now starting to collect portable gear (have a WM-D6C, WM-D6, two Panasonic RX-5150s, an RX-F2, and RX-F4). Glad to learn of this forum and will contribute where I can. In my profession as a pubic safety communications systems manager, I've spent many hours on a bench repairing and diagnosing both digital and analog two-way radios and related hardware utilized by public safety and government. In my time at my current employer, I've migrated several thousand users off a 29 year old analog trunked radio system to a new P-25 digital phase 2 multi-site simulcast system. I co-manage this system daily and am now in the process of implementing a new computer aided dispatch (CAD) and records management system (RMS), so I may disappear for weeks at a time as projects of this magnitude can be a 24 hour a day effort! Electronics and RF are in my blood. Analog audio is how I enjoy them! Glad to be here!
That is my hometown, went to Campbell High, Griffin Middle and Kings Springs Elementary. Still living in Cobb county. Don't know if you have been back lately, if not, you will hardly recognize anything. Even people I went to school with and moved away are shocked when they return for visits. In 1977 when we moved here, Cobb county had around 200,000 people. It's well over a million now and growing.
