little big GRUNDIG

    bought this nice little GRUNDIG-set cheap from private and fixed it up completely (there's a turntable as well), it'll be my son's x-mas present, as he decided he wants some hifi with cassette and turntable (he's 9 !):

    those speaker (2-way) came with it, even if built in a plastic-box they sound absolute amazing !

    ...you folks think it's a nice present ?

    Grundigs invariably look great and sound gorgeous. The set you restored is so cozy that it makes for THE perfect X-Mas present to your son. After all, at 9 the kid wants to be like his audiophile dad, doesn't he? :)

    What a great present.

    I reckon that when that system was new it would have been outside of the price range of the average 19 year old.

    I sometimes think how lucky the young are with all the low price technology.
    Then I think about the price of my first house bought in 1986.

    That has a stunning look with plenty of lights and the brushed metal trim. He's a lucky lad!
