Thank you, Brutus! Glad we share tastes! My understanding of rock musics takes to a dead stop in the 90's. Sorry, but I hate all those new songs with loads of reverb and all those effects.
Hello and welcome Roman666! I too share quite a big part of your tastes. I'm amazed by how much Magma seems to be known on this board BTW as it is absolutely never broadcasted here in France (or I always missed it?).
Hi, Ball000! Sadly, Magma didn't receive too much attention during the 70's from the DJ's. And that's a shame, because during those days there was a good bunch of great french bands of Psy and Prog Rock (Magma, Gong, etc...)
I don't have this particular model in my collection, Roman. It looks like a top of midrange, and it probably sounds accordingly (which is good but not awesome). Depending on the repairing it could cost 15 or 50€ or more... The few Toshibas I have didn't impressed me much for their sound, but I really cannot say this time. Yes, 10€ is worth, but don't know if repairing it is worth too... Yes, there are some people offering their service here in Spain. In Barcelona there is @Sergi who is specialized in Reel2Reel and decks but also does walkmans. Look below my signature; there's a link for repairing services worldwide. Where are you? Nice work! And I'm glad that the template served you well, really. I love to see other's work with my template
Hi, Hugo! Thank's for the replies. First, I have doubts about the Toshiba... without data enough, I don't know if it's worthy 10 € plus P&D. But it looks so cool... Thanks, too, for the contact (@Sergi). Should I contact directly with them o with Sergi? I live in Guadalajara, but I don't think there'll be any problem if I send them my stuff carefully packaged. Great template! Best regards.
¡Bienvenido, Roman666! Nice to have another member from Spain here on Stereo2Go Don't worry about being on a budget... As long as your equipment works, sounds minimally well (and I think any so-called 'HiFi system', big or small, should tick this box) and you use it to listen to music you like the way you like, I don't see anything wrong with this! (My father is a big classical music fan, he mostly listens to 320kbps MP3 rips (to save HDD space) of his big CD collection played back from his computer through the AUX IN of a JVC UX-G30 mini-system, and he enjoys that... As long as he doesn't go down into 192kbps territory I won't complain, although I don't like MP3s too much myself!). In the end, all things considered, it's all about the music! Same here... I'm on my way to a 2nd equilibrium point on my system... Since I got my TC-K990ES deck, I realized I'll have to improve the interconnects, as most of the ones I'm using now are of the cheap variety, and I think they don't do it justice... Problem is, I have so many of them that it can get really expensive and, after the 990ES, I won't be able to do big expenses for some time, so I'll have to carry out this upgrade at a very slow pace (one cable now, another then...) In the mid/long run I'll have to change the speakers too... So that's how it goes! Anyway, hope you feel comfortable here! ¡Saludos cordiales! David.
Hi, David! Thank you very much! Man, your TC-K990ES looks really cool! I've never heard about that deck. Yesterday, we went to see "The Last Jedi" and, coming back home, we saw an appliance shop that's on a clearance sale. I wasn't able to fight the temptation and we bought a nice Fonestar as-24u for 80 €. It's really small (roughly 20x10x3 cm.), but you can plug in anything you want and, funnier of all, on the front side there are 2 slots where you can plug in a USB or a SD/MMC card to listen to mp3 files directly. So, as Led Zeppelin would sing, "The Song Remains the Same"; no matter how hard you try, you'll always buy something to soothe that monkey on your back. Here you can see the amplifier near my barebone computer and a cigarette packet so as you can see how small it is.
Yes, you can directly contact him if you wish. His telephone is: +34 93 219 61 62. Actually I've been with him today to pick up my long awaited Nakamichi Dragon that had a very very though issue and took me years to repair... After almost 3 years I think I'll be enjoying it again Thanks @Sergi !
Hmm, strange. The system automatically reduces the size of any photo so it won't cause any problem... So you are trying to upload a JPEG photo taken with your phone or a compact camera downloaded into your computer? Can you tell me how many MB does 'weight' that photo?
