I do have a few minidisc portables and a great AK240 Blue note version which I absolutely love. This forum is so chilled out it is refreshing... I think I would look silly putting it all on a rollerskate lol...

I don’t know if you have a Sony Walkman Pro D6C as well? But I put the AK240 and Caylx M against the Sony D6C and Sony D6C knocked them both for 6. They were both good but some female vocals and some male vocals they could not handle. I have since tried the AK380, which was smoother than the AK240 but did not try it side by side against the D6C but I would still give the D6C the edge with regard to sound quality but not on convenience. I hope to try the SP1000 soon and see if it’s any better than the AK380.

If you have the D6C, have you compared it against your AK240?

I did audition a sony, can't remember what it was, but it needed an external amp and i felt it was good but not as good. I love all my bluenote music on the AK240 and I think a set of IEM's will be perfect for me. I just wish it could store tidal offline, then I would be in heaven.

Yes when i tried it, i did use both the AK240 and the Caylx M and my D6C with my Ray Samuels P-51 Mustang so to put them all on the same footing and the D6C still won.

I think I auditioned the ZX2 at the time. I am not surprised it won actually, I have been recording and mastering some old tapes onto new stock and they sound better than the original, no doubt Digital has a long way to go and another 40 years like analogue and they will crack it eventually. Great feedback.
