Hmm, this one “is a different story”. This one is a recorder, but it’s built on the same basis as the PX505, which is awesome. Congrats!
Some recorders are autoreverse for playback but not for recording, they are able to play both sides of a cassette, but can only record on the first side, for example the Aiwa HS-J36... so when a recorder is autoreverse even in recording mode, it was often advertised as "reverse recording".
Thanks Boodokhan. I'm waiting to receive the walkman; if it works properly, fine; if not, and if it's physically OK, I'll send it to Sergi to have it fixed. If the budget were too high... I don't know.
I wonder if it's actually "instant" reverse recording? I could swear bitd seeing a home tape player/recorder that had that feature. It could sense the tape's end (leader) and it would auto reverse the moment it detected it. Which meant a person could listen to both sides of a tape almost uninterrupted (only a very slight pause while it flipped directions). This supposedly worked during recording and playback. I don't recall the model or who made it (Yamaha, Teac, Technics...?).
