Hi Folks, I need to track down this microswitch (will probably need three or four as spares) for the HS-P505 whose play button has failed.
I think I've found them, but I'm mot sure - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10x-DTSM...SPST-NO-0-05A-12VDC-SMT-1-6N-5mm/192331701120
Looks like a fairly standard part. The only other dimension you need to check is the height of the button as there might be a number of heights available.
There was very little on Ebay. I took a look at the button mechanism, and I think that this will serve the purpose... I hope. Part of the problem is that postage makes it so difficult to access these things from a company... where you've got all the choice, but only discover the bits and pieces you need, as you go.
Search for "Tactile Switch" and you will be spoilt for choice. Regarding postage a couple of times I have bought components from Ebay and had them turn up in recently packed Farnell packages. People with a full account and who use it regularly get free postage so they can charge a couple of £ and still make a profit.
Now that's worth knowing. I'll have to find the Farnell code and search ebay for it. I actually just sent them an e-mail with the measurements from the capacitors, telling them what I was doing, the kind of thing I've got, and if they've got any suggestions that will increase my chances of making better repairs.
Thanks. I managed to find some on e-bay that worked. The actual button protrusion was a little higher than I needed, but I sorted that out and the unit is now working. I'll keep those places on file though, in case I need them in the future.
