Got to hand it to Pioneer for pandering to us Canadians. Putting a hockey player on a brochure add is like coating a loaded picnic basket in honey hoping a bear will enjoy it more.

I have to say I love my SK-95. A fantastic sounding box at low volume. I wish I can fix my SK-71...it's a work in progress. Stay tuned....

    Boxes & Their Boxes:

Has anyone else on S2G ever scored the original box with one of their boomboxes?

    Or the original manual?

    If you've been so lucky,
PLEASE ADD A PHOTO of your boombox (WITH its original box or manual or even brochure or advertisement)

    Hitachi TRK 8190H:
The guy sold this because his cat was shredding the box. Thanks cat.

    LANICO L-939
Scored this New Old Stock (NOS) Lanico L-939 on the weekend from Kijiji.
The most obscure & least documented box in my collection.
Made by Lasonic in Taiwan, likely in the late 80's to early 90's.
It was discovered on the weekend in the back of the garage of a former electronics vendor at the Hwy 400 Flea Market in Barrie Ontario in the 1990's.
Amazingly, the belts have not disintegrated & both decks play like champs after seeing their first light of day this century.
I was the first to respond to the ad on Kijij, but by the time I (quickly) showed up to claim it, the sellers had received 7 other offers.
Some were higher than the price we had agreed to, so I gladly paid more, which is unusual for me.
But it's the first true NOS piece I've ever had the chance to own.
Thank You Larry, Mike & Kijiji.

I'll be at the boombox meet mentioned in this Boomboxery thread:

    http://boomboxery.com/forum/index.p...o-boombox-meet-sat-feb-17th-2018/#entry349599

On Saturday February 17th from noon to 5:00 at the shop "Collective" at 389 Spadina Ave. in Toronto's Chinatown.

    https://toronto-collective.com/

I realize this site is mostly for Walkman enthusiasts, but hopefully another boombox collecting member in the Toronto area will be able to make it as well (Brutus442?).
I have many blasters I'd trade.

I will cheat with this one which I have mentioned a few times.

    Sanyo M2400FG.JPG Receipt.JPG Schematic.JPG

My Mothers Sanyo M2400FG which has been in the family since 1973.
She kept the box because when she wasn't using it she always kept it in the box,
along with all the paperwork it came with including the original receipts.
I think the polystyrene inserts got dumped in about 1974.

Weltron - A unit I think you would like is this

    https://www.retrotogo.com/2016/01/e...t-designed-philips-303-ufo-record-player.html

She also had one of these from new which she bought herself and which was always kept in its original poly packaging.
She bought it to use where she taught, playing classics like "The Teddy Bears Picnic". When she retired she left it at the
school "for the new Teacher to use". From my memories of the schools AV equipment it was still way ahead of anything the school owned.

Just found this forum today. Watched the amazing video. I haven't read the entire thread, but was wondering why no Pioneer SK-550?

    Hi, turboLAZER:
    Thanks for commenting.
Please add photos and info of the PIONEER SK-550; I've never seen one in person and only know it from the brochures.
And thanks to decks&cassettes at Boomboxery (hilariously colourful & bendy in last photo) for organizing this excellent boombox meet in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Saturday February 17 2018 at the equally excellent store "Collective" at 389 Spadina Ave.

Sadly, I only managed to record these few seconds of DJ Grouch's epic set, but luckily they are most appropriate thanks to LL Cool J's ode to his JVC(s) in "Radio":

Yes, he probably has more than me but the ones that he has are not necessarily found in the USA for the most part of them.
