I have a few boxes that were modified by other people, and I've waited too long to give them the proper respect. Like this RX-5250 for example. Norm (Superduper) modified it 2-3 years ago. And then last summer I got a tape door label from Fatdog. I didn't like the original label because it was only red and white. I wanted some blue in it. So he digitized his own design and did an excellent job! So thanks to these 2 great people for their extraordinary skills!

This is the "LS" model with a 4-band tuner. It already had a tuner light, but the button was "press and hold".  I wanted it to stay on. So I asked Norm to modify it. He installed a solenoid, which is a small electromagnet that holds a circuit open or closed. So now the light stays on until I press it again.

Unlike the North American model, this "LS" European model has a black tuner dial with white digits painted on a sheet of acrylic. So it's a great opportunity for an LED upgrade, because the acrylic sheet "carries" the light across the dial, illuminating the digits.

How does this box sound? It looks very beautiful. Maybe the same size as an Aiwa 950. Thanks.

    Thanks everyone for the comments!

Good, but not as good as the Aiwa.

Yes, that yellow light is original. Too dim for my tastes lol.
