    Hello all,

Hugo gave me a great idea to repost my old collection post. I hope you all enjoy the old pics. I have since sold and bought many players so this doesn't really reflect my current collection. I will probably make a new collection post eventually or a video or series of videos on my YouTube channel for walkmans:

Hi everyone, I haven't posted anything in a while, so I thought I was due. I've also purchased and sold a lot of walkmans since my last big post so I thought I'd share with you all what I have right now. Like always I hope you enjoy the pics.

Let's start with my Favorite... Aiwa. I like to call these "The First Four"

Wow that's quite the collection of Aiwa's there, few I'd love to add to my small lot. I have a CS-J1 and a HS-J02 (when it arrives!) and a few newer Aiwa's. Thanks for sharing!

Just a little extra today. Thought I'd show you all where I keep my walkmans (and tapes.) I'll probably store them one of these days so they stay preserved, sealed in bubble-wrap.

Don't worry, I don't expose them to direct sunlight all the time. Besides, the sunlight is filtered through the trees out back.

    Love the white Sony Watchman!

I have one of these in grey and have hacked the inside to turn it into a digital media centre / retro games console

You can see it working here

Awesome. It looks like the sort of thing Sony should be making now. What CPU is it running ?
Regarding the comment on batteries I keep wonder if a Drill Battery could be used although they seem to come in strange voltages.
No brand drills are really cheap these days.

Thanks for the suggestion - would be great if it was truly portable
I have incorporated the switch on the side of the unit, wired to turn the LCD panel on/off - hopefully this would reduce battery useage so the drill battery sounds promising...

In terms of CPU, this project uses a Raspberry Pi 3B+ with a Pimoroni phat DAC
My current project uses the (tiny) Pi Zero W and is completely headless (no screen) and has very low power demands. It will run from a 3.7V Lipo phone battery - watch this space!
