I found this in a local Charity Shop this weekend, didn't take much persuading to buy it! Has some strange functions, you can run both cassette decks at the same time and fade between them, you can listen to any source on the speakers, then you can have a different source on the headphones! The tuner dial is backwards too..... As usual, needs the cassette decks cleaned, it plays tapes but they get stuck on the capstans, so they need a good clean, but at least it plays, one speaker 'farts' a little, so going to turn it round in the housing (read this on another AV forum) and see how that works out. Apparently it harks from 1982 and was used in a James Bond movie 'A View to a Kill' along with a Sony WM-F5 Walkman, I need to watch it now to confirm! Going to give it a good clean-up and add it to the collection! 20180428_233735.jpg 20180428_233740.jpg 20180428_233832.jpg 20180428_233822.jpg

Wow, that's a beast, there's nothing better than rounding the aisle and seeing something like that on the shelf. Philips Boomboxes are pretty rare over here although they did have a big presence in electronics, I never get to see something like these except in photos, thanks for sharing.

Thanks! It's not what I'd call a powerhouse as its only rated at 10w per channel, but it sounds pretty good. Just some basic cleaning to do and a new aerial rod as the top is missing and she'll be almost mint!
