Hi, My name is Jim and I love to fix old stuff so naturally I found my way into walkmans and cassette players. And found the fun in making mixtapes. Right now I'm working on a beaten up WM-F2095 which apparently only need a new belt and some lubrication, but I don't have any idea on how to fit the belt since it melted probably in the early 00's. Does anyone have a photo of the belt drive of this model? Or any idea on how it was fitted?
Hey Guys! Very new to repairing Walkmans but it's become an instant obsession of mine, love it! Managed to get my hands on one of these amazing models in a job lot and I really love it, sold all the others in the job lot but want to hang onto this one for personal listening. However, the motor doesn't run! Yes, the belt is perished but when I hit play the motor doesn't engage which is alarming. The red light shows when a battery is inserted and the radio works perfectly so I feel it could be an issue with power getting to the motor. Can anyone offer some guidance? I can provide pictures of the inside Thanks ! If it is a dead motor and not caps I do have spares, I fear however it may be caps. Try to turn the motor by hand, if it has sat unused for a long time it may be stuck in place.
