    Hi to the forum

Found recently a WM-DD30 in red colour. Technically it has the usual issues which I could fix thanks to the brilliant guide made by Marian.
The Walkman is in very good cosmetic condition except for the door window which is very scratched. I would like to replace it with a better looking one.
Is there a good way to remove the window when the glue is still strong?
Heat? More heat? Force? More force? Heat and Force?:hmmm

    Thank you.

    Thank you for this link.
Unfortunately the class is not only scratched but also blurry and opaque, probably caused by acidly liquid.

The old adhesives on my dd's were quite easy to remove. Using heat will help and I would use something non porous to pry the window off. I've used old plastic rulers in the past. Don't use any chemicals to dissolve the adhesive. It will damage the plastic window and will crack very easily. As for repairing the scratches and getting rid of the blurriness the I suggest some automotive plastic polish. Meguiars has Plast X. I've used this on my headlights and works well to remove yellowing.

Removed the blurry glass and replaced it by a better looking one where less polish was needed.
Head and force (moderate!) and a lot of patience was necessary to remove the two glasses.
The scratches and the blurs on the old glass appears less serious than in reality, though I hope that I can clean it and use it again in another walkman.

    excellent job.
It is very hard to remove the window glass without breaking it.

Thank you, but unfortunately a small piece broke.

Fortunately it is not essential for the function.
I used warm water (approx. 45 degrees). This helps to make the plastic a bit less fragile and the function of the water indicated where the adhesive still sticks.
