Just one question regarding AC adaptors. I saw a Youtube video demonstrating this machine and the guy said you should never use a generic 6 volt adaptor or you will fry the circuits. Only ever use the original Sony supplied one. Is this true? I've been using a multi voltage adapter and it seem fine. Should I stop using it?
It should be negative pin or you can blow the chip inside and then it would only run very fast and be useless unless chip replaced. I've never used an original Sony adapter on mine just 6v with a negative pin.
I found a replacement 3D printed battery cover on ebay. Only £9.99 and it fits perfectly! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3D-Print...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
Just today my first WM-D6C arrived, and boy does it sound good! Got mine for a decent price, but I noticed that the motor runs even when the unit's off. Upon reading up, I found out that this is a symptom of a damaged servo IC. It still sounds good though, so my question is, is my unit living on borrowed time? Will the damage worsen or will it stay so? I can live happily live with it at the moment, sounds good enough for my ears and I just need to remove the batteries after every listening session.
Hard to say as I just repaired a D6C this week which I purchaed on ebay The previous owner plugged in a 9V ac adapter and fried the DC to DC converter and the Sony CX20084 speed chip I repaired the DC converter and replaced the speed chip and now it sounds great
