Just got this Very rare Sharp GF 9500 on the inter web and when I received it, it had one speaker completely busted out out place in the speaker box, the main unit took some serious damage, too, as the three function switch buttons were severed off from the mini plunger switches inside the unit. The power circuit board was broke in two as well. I fixed the power board, superglued the speaker screw mounts back in place, and can at least listen to the tuner on it. An unfortunate ordeal nonetheless.
That is a rare Boombox looks nice too I just can never get over the things that happen to these radios during shipping it's a crime to destroy something that made it this long just to get bashed up by a dumb mother f**** .
Glad you could somewhat fix it but still, sucks. How did you fix the circuit board that was broken in two? Run jumper wires to all the traces?
I fixed the corcuit board by super gluing it back together, scraping the green off the traces a little bit on each side of the cracks with a pocket knife, and soldering a jumper bead across all of the broken traces. About 6 different ones in this case. I can still switch to different sources, but I would have to take the unit apart to move the switches each time. Tape plays fine, but no fast fwd. or rewind. Line in works, as well, but I'll just keep it on tuner because it picks up short wave and everything else extremely well!
