After trying to find the reason my D6 wouldn't record found the resistance on one side of the REC pot had blown out to 500K ohms!. It's supposed to max out at 20K ohms. I believe there is a crack in the carbon trial inside the pot.
Wondering if any other member has found or has a replacement rec pot for the WM-D6 or D6C?
    Thanks

You have not much to loose by taking it apart and trying to work out what has gone wrong. Sometimes it is just the rivets at the end of the track not being tight enough. Otherwise conductive paint might help or (I have read) a soft pencil (which is mainly carbon)

Yes I doubt I'll be finding a replacement any time soon. It's now been dismantled, and treated with conductive paint and reinstalled. Record is now working but a fair amount of crackling in the left channel persists. Found one dead transistor,Q309, with high voltage way over spec. Now looking to see if others have been damaged. Not sure if that is causing the left channel recording to be crackly.
    Thanks for your help.
