Hello everyone, It's been a while since I've uploaded anything, so I busted out the SLR and took some photos of my new pieces and some old favorites to share: First up: My SECOND RX-s40! - Found this listed on eBay as "Panasonic walkman" with some Sony something or other and I almost fell out of my chair! It did need some work to become operational. These units tend to crack as the plastic they are made of is very thin...as result, this unit's battery compartment had split apart. Just a small amount of glue later and I have a PERFECTLY functioning RX-s40 for the collection. Hardly ANY scratches, scuffs, etc - it's just beautiful! And yes, I listen to it regularly. We got SISTERS: Here it is sitting next to my first RX-s40: Really hi-lighting the great condition the new one is in. Next up the wonderful RX-1960: I had one of these for quite a while - non functioning. Found this second unit on eBay for a very reasonable price in its original box with all paperwork, power supply, headphones, AND speakers still in plastic! I took the two units a part (NOT easy to do with these) and created one solid functioning RX-1960 to enjoy. It has a lot of metal components that give it a real solid feel which nicely compliments the warm clean sound it produces. When I take this out, I always have it in it's original case to protect it! Note the original price tag. Thats $323.06 in 2019 dollars. Finally: The Aiwa HS-PC202 M III Someone on eBay in Germany got their hands on a whole containers of these things and was selling them by the pair. For a reasonable price I couldn't resist! The unit was a little stiff coming out of the box for the first time in almost 30 years...but after a few tapes it plays and sounds GREAT! Keeping one in the box for later Dolby C is a nice bonus. Thats it for now! Any comments or questions please leave below. I LOVE this website because I love having other folks to talk to about cassette players to lets keep the conversation going! Tyler
I am incredibly envious of your Rx-S40 Walkman, Taylor. You have a wonderful collection, and a great camera to boot.
i love both types of Panasonic you have there, great units, have never seen them before, thanks for sharing !
I like the styling of the RX-1960, especially the way the font perfectly matches the angle of the tape window.
