Does anyone know what size of screws are used to the back plate? I seem to have lost all three on my WM-3.
Not precisely, but I use some generic small screws advertised as being for generic Chinese cellphones. You need a countersunk one for the bottom one though, to keep things flat.
Actually, the images I've seen suggest that you don't use countersunk screws on the back plate. I'll check what dimensions cellphone screws are.
Yeah. The countersunk screw is just for the bottom side. Near the battery door hinge. Otherwise, the walkman wouldn't stand up straight. All other screws are non countersunk. I looked up the sizes of the screws I used, and they turned out to be 1.4 x 3. And it turns out that the manuals specify the sizes as well. Sony used 1.4 x 4 as shown here (shows the 1 countersunk screw as well):
I wonder if you mean the same screws I'm asking about when you say "screws for the bottom side". Perhaps bottom plate is a better name than back plate. I found a image online that shows the screws I mean. Is that manual available online as I sure would need it.
Oh, it seems that we're not on the same page here... I personally call that the side plate. The manual say's it's the same 1.4 x 4 screws. And yes, it's available for free online https://freeservicemanuals.info/en/servicemanuals/viewmanual/Sony/WM3/
