771 Pounds of spinning magic, I'd love to see it and see what they have it hooked up to. Just out of curiosity I wonder how much it costs to build one, I'm sure more of the price goes into shipping it around, marketing, salaries, and the limited quantities. It would also be interesting to know if they build them, themselves or if they are just involved in the design work.

I'd love to if I had the time, you guys could give me a education on some of the better equipment. I checked the schedule and they have one close to me in Chicago but it's in January, maybe I'll check it out next year.

Well now, just checked the calendar, and I am free on the 10th till the 12th. Munich is only a flixbus away....:scratch2:
Although it feels kind of ridiculous for a college student using 2nd hand mid range equipment to go a high end hi-fi event.
At least I can go there to listen to the best of the best, come home and realise how insufficient my equipment sounds .

Hey Command8 you should just come along and enjoy anyway, it's always nice to see what's out there. You can still go back home and enjoy what you have, that's what i do.

Still debating if I should..... ahh the dilemma of the broke college student: save money & starve later or starve now.
If I can get all the accommodations & food sorted out, then this isn't a mini-meeting, rather a fellowship. :wink2
I'll have two tickets to paradise :boogie:

I Will be there too TC4! That air force zero is a beast! But to me, iT is way up overkill..... there are a 1000 turntables for a 1000th of That price That play equally sound quality... don’t you think so?

Helaba yes it is a beast of a turntable, I listened to the Acoustical Systems turntable last year (See attached image) and that is a beast too a lot bigger and heavier than the TechDas.

As to better turntables at a fraction of the price of the Air Force Zero? I don’t know I have not heard it yet, so can't say.

I think we all need to PM each other with our numbers / e-mail addresses so we can all meet up?

I remember reading about a guys home, I think in Italy, where he had a solid concrete foundation with a subfloor set up for sound reproduction, these turntables would be the icing on the cake for a set-up like that.

i've been at the show on friday, luckily meeting TooCool4 - great guy, what a nice day !

    well, about the show:
what an unbelievable huge bunch of "absolute ears" running through overfilled little studios
of hifi-companies that i never heard of , but who're all trying to make believe that they invented
    the wheel new :lollegs:

best was us joining them playing the $ 400.000,- AirForce Zero turntable:
yes, it's a monster of a turntable - to be honest, we left before they finished - the setup was dull
and bass-roary and best: the vinyl they played (i think it was "Tosca") was as scratchy as if it was
bought without a sleeve on a bootsale downtown...

finally besides meeting TooCool4 i was more than happy to arrive home and enjoy my own hifi.
ha, my speaker-cable are only 2x 3,5mm2 copper and i wasn't the best in physics at school, but
what i know for sure is, that the 45W per channel from my good old amp definitively won't need
more to blow all the wavey current in it's complete spectrum from its output to my speaker's ter-
    minals :smoke

It was lovely meeting autoreverser at the show on Friday, we had a great time checking out the rooms and listening to different gear.
At the end of the day we went into Munich and had some beers and dinner with my friend I am staying with, very nice day.

The demo for the TechDas AirForce Zero was just plain Zero, we left before the end of the first track. The record they played was almost more noise the music.
After wanting to hear this Turntable so much, I had to go back on Saturday to give it a second try.
I have to admit this time they did not make the same mistake of the day before, they played good pressings which showed the turntable off in a good light totally different experience from the day before. I was impressed by the AirForce Zero this time, worth the billing it’s had. The only bad thing here was the Vivid Audio speakers they use over powered the room and did nothing to help the setup.
Just at the end Michael Fremer turned up and played 45rpm copy of Led Zeppelin - Stairway to heaven, which sounded amazing.

I met with Command8 on Saturday and will be meeting with him again today Sunday. I will be taking my DC2 & D6C with me today so he can listen to it, as I never took it on Saturday.

I met with Command8 again on Sunday and we went through some more rooms at the show, i showed him some excellent sounding rooms which impressed him a lot. The rooms are the Vitus Audio room using Rockport Technologies speakers. The Spectral Audio room with Wilson speakers, this was his favourite room, he says he now knows the standards to aim for. The last room i took him to was the Western Electrics room as he said he did not like horns, i think he changed his mind :yesss:
After the show we went for drinks and he compared his Panasonic to my D6C and DC2, i think he liked them.

By the way Command8 you wanted me to send you a list of the albums you tried on the personal stereos, list below.

    Gotan Project – Lunatico
Nikos Dimantopoulos – A new life
Wax Tailor – In the mood for life
    Yello – The Eye

He said it was okay to post his pic.
