I recently found a Tosiba SUGAR Model locally, this Model RT-SWU9 in black with the official colors of mauve and taupe used for highlighting, had been forgotten in someones home and needed some love to bring it back into useable condition.

This is a JDM boombox with Japanese Writing and a 100v power supply, which bulges out of the backside. A higher end unit, it's very heavy with four band EQ, antenna hook-up and CD AUX input and touch controls.

There were several variations of the SUGAR boxes, they look like they were aimed at females who wanted a quality boomer that also didn't look cheesy.

Thanks Northerner, with it's soft touch controls and tons of features I'd put it very high up on the heap of mini's. The ad puts pricing around $438.00 USD back in the 80's!

More of a maxi-mini T-ster, I've got it surround by really little ones and it looks huge. Definately worth getting if you see one, very nice builds.

I have now the red version of RT-SWU9 - the RT-SW9. After deep cleaning, new belt and some tuner spray it works fine.
