    Hello,

I have a DD II. I replaced the CG and everything seems to work fine, but when the Tape reel gets too heavy the Walkman stops before the Tape reaches the end.

It‘s Not a mechanical issue. With another PCB i tried it worked, but on the other Board one Channel is dead (not the headphone socket). The mechanism itself is fine. It just stops electrical. If i press stop and then Rew or F. FWD again it Works a few seconds and then stops again But not at the End of the Cassette.

Auto stop in Playback Mode Works Fine and Tape Never stops before not reaching the End.

Does anybody know what is wrong? Is it maybe the servo IC? Speed while playback is ok! Capstan is adjusted correctly... i could change the IC from the PCB with the Dead Channel then!

    Cheers Tobi

Are you sure that is not mechanical ? Symptoms are the same as if you forgot to engage the little black lever into the head lever`s "fork" ...

yes, I'm sure! Everything is in place. With another PCB it works. It's not the first unit i have which had this problem. I also had a DC2, i gave it away because of this error.
